FAQ’S
What should I expect at my first appointment?
The first appointment generally takes up to one hour. You can except that your practitioner will ask you a lot of questions about your medical history and current presenting complaint.
They will then conduct a thorough examination which usually includes both a movement-based assessment and a hands-on assessment.
Once a diagnosis has been established, this is discussed with you, along with a clear plan of what is involved to reach your health goals. This may include a combination of hands-on treatment, ergonomic and lifestyle advice and rehabilitation prescription. This management plan is written down for you and all rehabilitation exercises are logged onto a mobile app for easy access.
Can I use my Private Health?
Yes! We provide on the spot claiming for most private health funds through our HICAPS machine.
We also accept Medicare’s Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plans.
Our practitioners are all registered providers for both Work Cover and Transport Accident Compensation (TAC) claims.
Do I need a referral?
You don’t need a referral to attend an appointment at MyHealth Co.
You can gain a Medicare referral from your GP under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan which entitles you to a partial rebate on up to five allied health sessions per calendar year.
What do I bring?
If you have any scans, reports or referrals from other health care practitioners or your GP, please bring these with you to your appointment.
What do I wear?
For Osteopathy appointments, you may be required to expose areas of skin to get the most out of your treatment. We do offer a gown if you feel more comfortable.
